Project 365 Day 81
Two for one special.....we had several hail storms today.....
...and a spectacular sunset behind Table Mountain.
Project 365 Days 77 to 80 in Emeryville
Our hotel was just across the tracks from the Emeryville Amtrack Station. Pai loved watching the trains go by. It was surprisingly quiet in our room.

While Bernie was at work, we explored the neighborhood. A favorite adventure was the pedestrian bridge over the tracks.

Another day we went out to the Marina. The trail starts just west of I80 and goes all the way out to the end of a new fishing pier. Cool views of the Bay Bridge, the Golden Gate and downtown SF.
There are gorgeous flowers blooming all over Emeryville. I loved these lupines.
The trail is on the bayside, the road is to the left and follows the marina side.
And many beautiful boats.

Project 365 Day 69
We made the decision to take out a big oak on the north side of my house last fall. It was showing signs of stress and huge limbs hung over the power lines. The fallers said the wood was as hard as a rock when they cut it down. And this split in the remaining stump is two feet deep. As sad as it was to loose this tree, clearly it was a wise decision.

Knights Ferry Picnic
A cloudy Saturday was perfect for a picnic at Knight's Ferry, especially considering the forecast of rain for all of next week. G. did an excellent job grilling hotdogs to order.
While S. practiced "round the world" with his new yo-yo.
GP and GM even had a turn.
Poppies and popcorn were blooming. Only a couple of the gorgeous bush lupines (in header above) were open.
It's about a mile to the upper end of the Park. The trails follow the Stanislaus River canyon.
More poppies and a glimpse of the river.
Back the the bridge we stopped for a snack of Girl Scout cookies, then headed for home to get ready for the rain.
